Short Wave IR Lamps

Short Wave IR LampsShort wave quartz infrared lamps utilize tungsten filaments to produce the most efficient heat transfer. Linear quartz glass construction allows for high temperatures and quick response time.

Lamp wattages available from 300 to 5800 Watts. Lamp sizes available from 8 inches to 61 inches. Several types available in 120 Volt; however, most IR lamps operate on high voltage of 240+ Volt.

Variations of internal reflectors and gold coating enhance and improve the basic IR lamp if external reflector assemblies are not used.

Many types of quartz lamps in various sizes may be used for more compact applications and several reflector types are available for point source radiation.

Medium & Long Wave IR Lamps

Only short wave radiation is produced by tungsten filament lamps. Longer wavelengths are produced by quartz heaters using a nichrome wire as a heater source.

Advantages of QUARTZ HEATERS:

  1. Do not operate in an inert atmosphere or vacuum as short wave lamps do, and may be manufactured in many different size, wattage, and voltage variations to accommodate the heating equipment.
  2. Available on a custom basis for short runs with 15 different standard base types.
  3. Quartz heaters, while not as efficient as short wave lamps, still operate at up to 80% efficiency.

DIFFUSED SURFACE:
Reduce surface glare from standard clear quartz envelopes with frosted or ruby-colored tubes.

TWIN TUBE or compact construction:
Gold coating increases thermal efficiency by 30% over unreflectorized heating applications. Twin tube construction allows for high wattage filaments to be used in a ‘U’-shaped lamp construction of two tubes fused together into one envelope.

AVAILABLE CONFIGURATIONS for twin tube lamps:
One sided connection and two sided connection - more types available upon request.
